The CNUE took part in a consultation launched by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Banking and Finance (FISMA) on the development of secondary markets for non-performing loans and distressed assets. In its position paper, the CNUE draws particular attention to the multiple risks associated with the introduction of an accelerated loan security: weakening of national legal systems and the balance of interests created by them, risk of fraud, circumvention of judicial procedures, etc.

The evaluation is carried out on behalf of the European Commission’s DG Justice and covers the 28 EU Member States as well as Norway and Iceland. The results are expected in February/March 2018.
